Our Areas of Focus

At Diatom Impact, our mission is to create sustainable change across Africa. We channel our resources into five key pillars that have a measurable, lasting effect on communities. Our projects have touched over 1.12 million lives between 2019 and 2024.

Education

Education is the cornerstone of progress. Since 2019, we have provided over 10,000 scholarships, renovated 120+ schools, and equipped classrooms with 15,000 digital learning devices. Our literacy programs have reached rural communities in Nigeria, Ghana, and Kenya, bridging the education gap and preparing young Africans for the future.

Health

Good health is essential for thriving communities. We have facilitated 78 medical outreaches serving over 250,000 patients, built 32 boreholes for clean water access, and partnered with hospitals to deliver free surgeries for underprivileged families.

Entrepreneurship

We believe in unlocking the potential of African innovators. Our entrepreneurship programs have trained over 5,000 MSMEs, incubated 220 startups, and facilitated over $4M in funding access. From agriculture tech to fashion, we nurture the ideas that will shape Africa's economy.

Gender Equality

Empowering women and girls creates stronger societies. We have trained 8,500 women in leadership, supported 500+ women-owned businesses, and created mentorship networks across Africa. Our advocacy has influenced policy changes promoting gender equity in education and the workplace.

Quality of Life

Our work extends to improving the living conditions of Africa’s most vulnerable. We have built 2,000 housing units, supported orphans, widows, and elderly citizens, and provided relief materials to 150,000 displaced individuals.
